Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship In a scene greatly resembling WrestleMania XXIV, The Viper repeated history at Night of Champions by retaining the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match against both John Cena and The Game.
Randy Orton def. John Cena & Triple HIt was little more than one year ago when Randy Orton maneuvered a critical victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All in Orlando, punting a near triumphant Triple H to steal the pin of Cena. Many believed that The Legend Killer could not possibly encapsulate lightning then release it so that it may strike twice at Night of Champions.
Through Pedigrees, Five Knuckle Shuffles and more, the three warriors clashed until Orton suddenly found himself helplessly locked in a Sharpshooter-STF combo. The WWE Champion tapped furiously, but before the official could determine the appropriate decision to render in this unusual circumstance, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase invaded the ring.
Interrupting the every-man-for-himself melee, Orton’s minions enacted a methodical scheme to divide so that The Viper could conquer. The 12 Rounds star, battled back, however, and hoisted Rhodes upon his shoulders. This gave Orton the single opportunity he needed to slide into position and emphatically bring down Cena with an RKO. Though it also meant an Attitude Adjustment for Rhodes, Orton remained focused, further replicating his WrestleMania moment by covering Cena to wrest the three-count, just as he did in March 2008.
While The Legend Killer bested a pair of WWE’s most celebrated and dogged competitors, this outcome leaves Cena and The Game – who sought his 14th World Championship reign – avid still to wholly requite months of torment at the hands of Orton.
Nonetheless, at Night of Champions, The Legacy was upheld. And after an eve where champions are celebrated, The Viper slithers onward with the WWE Title in tow.

Since I forecasted already the defeat of Cena in the triple threat match … WWE is craps to have allowed Orton to gain a clean victory over Cena. A good occasion not to watch WWE and to be liberated from WWE for a while.and of course to make some economy like many Cena’s fans NOT ordering the Night Of Champions’ DVD!

And the worst thing is: Triple H will say tonight: “I didn’t get pinned, so therefore its me and you [Orton] for SummerSlam”
WWE boggles my mind at times.

aww don’t hate I’M ONLY JOKING but the only reason why cena didn’t win cause he’s not part of the fued they olny made it a triple threat so that we don’t have to sit through another boring orton/hhh match, and if you think about he won matches that really aint much to earn or prove you should be champion.

I’ve fixed up a few issues over the website guys. Such as pages not being completely up-to-date with the time. It should all be sorted as of now.

It sucks cos obviously John had Orton beat – this is just disgraceful how the WWE can let Orton and his Legacy continue like this, shouldn’t there be a ruling or something agaisnt this. I think Cena is long over due for a Title run, and a heel turn, it’s about time the WWE look into this.

A heel turn? I dunno about that… what’s wrong with him being a polarizing figure? Love it or hate it, NO ONE gets his reaction and that makes him really unique. And it would be pathetic to see these same haters who claim they hate him no matter what to start accepting him just because he caved into them for lack of a better term. Besides, there aren’t that many top faces on Raw besides Triple H and they really need that stability. Mark Henry and MVP I can’t take seriously yet, so yeah.
Cena vs. Orton at Summerslam – A lot of wrestling pundits are throwing their hands up in the air and complaining about it, but it’s a refreshing change of pace in my mind. I’ve seen Orton vs. Triple H too many times and Mark Henry isn’t ready for a main event yet. Besides, Cena and Orton haven’t locked up in a one-on-one match for the WWE Championship ever since No Way Out 2008. Regardless of the outcome, it’s gonna be a good one in my mind. I can say that Randy Orton is better when he chases the championship as opposed to being the champ.
As a fan, I remember their match at Summerslam 2 years ago and it was a damn good match.

HBK will probably come in and save Triple H, or be his tag team partner when he is fighting against Legacy. Anyway, its nice to see a one-on-one between Randy Orton and Cena again. Its new compared to the same Triple H/Randy Orton feud they keep throwing at us.

Orton vs. Cena totally sucks!!! F**king b.s. and completely lameassed. It sucks!
Orton’s better as champion than when he’s chasing the title. So p*SS OFF!!!
Orton vs. Cena? Boring. same old crap that I’ve been forced to deal with and same thing can be said for Randy Orton and John Cena. Both of them should be sick and tired of having to feud against each other. I’m completely sick and tired of them feuding. It’s old and worse than boring.

Only thing that’d be better than awesome and incredibly wonderful….. that could happen at SummerSlam is Randy Orton getting a giggle fit, and laughing his as$ off !!! Juist because he deserves to.
