John Cena picked up the most coveted and prestigious Slammy -- Superstar of the Year!
With all of the happenings on Raw last night, we almost forgot about this. Alright, we jest; Raw wasn’t that good. 
Thankfully for all of us John Cena fans, our boy managed to pick up the coveted award of Superstar of the Year, beating out all of the other superstars on the roster including CM Punk, Undertaker and Randy Orton. While others have had good years, we think John has had an exceptional year. Lets look at a quick sum up:
John Cena started the year on a high coming back from his neck fusion surgery to claim the World Heavyweight Championship which he kept until No Way Out. Despite the bump of NWO; Cena would be defiant and would find himself inserted in the World Heavyweight Championship triple threat match at WrestleMania XXV where he amazed thousands; hoisting Big Show and Edge up on his shoulders together. WrestleMania was undoubtedly a proud moment for Cena fans. His title reign wouldn’t last long as the Big Show reared his ugly head everywhere John Cena turned and even put him through a 7000-watt search light! The two battled through matches where Cena would overcome the odds again and again. Amongst the back and forth battles with the Big Show, Cena found himself intertwined in yet another feud to the up-and-coming Miz who was looking to solidify his place in the WWE by picking up victory after victory on the “Golden Boy” Cena. Suffice to say, Cena made short work of the two and was back in the title hunt against an old time rival: Randy Orton. Every encounter they had: Summerslam, Breaking Point, Hell in a Cell, Bragging Rights — every match got better overtime and Cena overcame seemingly insurmountable odds when he beat Orton in an Anything Goes Iron Man match. Pursuing forward, adding prestige to the title, the D-Generates poked their noses in and tried to “dethrone” Cena; unfortunately, Cena proved too good. Though we had a bumpy end to the year, where he lost to Sheamus; Cena has undoubtedly had one hell of a year.
So, lets give a big congratulations to our boy.

I’m glad he got Superstar of the Year. I am trying to remember the last time a heel didn’t get it. He’s been nominated a few times and didn’t get it, so it’s overdue.

Omg I like the way you said it. Exactly the way I thought so. Cuz’ no matter what the outcome may be, he’ll always stay as the Superstar to many of us at hearts. It’s only technical speaking that he’s not the champion anymore. He’ll regain his title soon again and be our champion again, whether technically speaking or at hearts

I was accused to be a Cena’s hater! lesnabis a Cena’s hater. Some wrestling forum will be astonished. I ‘m known as one of the big fans of Cena for years now.Is John Cena who makes me loving wrestling. But may be I have not the same relations with Cena. II don’t see him as a “pretty boy” or a “lover” but as a wrestler one of the best in the world who have to work hard in the WWE to maintain him on the top! As the proverb goes :”spare the rod and spoil the child” I’m something straight with Cena before I want to him on the top and the fact that WWE had made him loosing to a rookie ant that Cena accepted it, is not good a tall for his image. Cena’s victory in the slammy awards – of course i’m delighted and more comfortable after that – does nor rub this defeat at a PPV in the end of the year. And that will will stay in his wrestling record as a disgraceful defeat. I was also very disappointed that Cena was nor permitted to take forward his rematch clause claiming a immediate revenge match as Cena himself made the promise to his fans. It’s perhaps why his made his statement at Slammy award Raw!
